Do all dogs require grooming?
Not all dogs require extensive grooming, but all dogs do require bathing, some dental hygiene like toothbrushing, and most will require some form of toenail trimming.

How does regular grooming contribute to the good health of my dog?
Shorter nails are more comfortable for dogs to walk on, and as dogs age, having good contact with the ground through shorter nails can make them more orthopedically comfortable. Additionally, trimming the fur between their toes, commonly referred to as "Grinch feet," can prevent slipping, especially in older dogs. Regular ear cleaning and bathing can help prevent skin infections and manage allergies.
How soon should I start to groom my dog?
We recommend getting a first grooming or a puppy cut typically after the third parvo vaccine. About one to two weeks after the third vaccine, you can have your puppy's first grooming session with a groomer.
What should I do for my puppy's first grooming?
Ensure that your puppy is up-to-date on vaccines. Visit the groomer beforehand to get a feel for their environment and how they handle dogs. It's important to verify that it's a comfortable situation for your puppy.
How often should my dog be groomed?
The frequency of grooming depends on the breed and coat type. For example, dogs with complicated coats, like doodles, may require grooming anywhere from once every six months to every four to six weeks. A professional groomer can provide guidance based on the length and type of your dog's coat. On average, most doodles need grooming every eight weeks.
