Dr. Lori Mathews

Lori Mathews, DVM, is originally from Massachusetts, where she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She then moved to the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean in 2004 to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her last year of Veterinary education was completed in 2008 at Texas A&M.

She moved to Williamsburg, Virginia, and worked as an associate veterinarian at a busy family practice for five years. She did per diem work on weekends at an emergency veterinary hospital. After five years of practice, she transitioned to full-time emergency veterinary care for the following two years, where she built skills in critical care, surgery, and ICU medicine.

Dr. Mathews met her husband in Virginia, where they married and had two children. After eight years in Virginia, they moved to Ohio, where her husband’s family resides.

She has worked in numerous veterinary hospitals and emergency care centers and has acquired a broad set of veterinary medicine skills to share with you and your pets. Dr. Mathews is skilled in soft tissue surgery, dental care, internal medicine, and ultrasound. She aims to bring modern care to the Troy community and surrounding areas. 

Her favorite way to spend her spare time is with her family and pets. Her hobbies include painting, knitting, and cycling.
