Lori Mathews, DVM

Lori Mathews, DVM

Veterinarian / Owner

Lori Mathews, DVM is originally from Massachusetts where she completed her undergraduate education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She then moved to the island of St. Kitts in the Caribbean in 2004 to attend Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. Her last year of Veterinary education was completed in 2008 at Texas A&M.

She moved to Williamsburg, Virginia and practiced as an associate veterinarian for five years at a busy family practice and did per diem work on weekends at an emergency veterinary hospital. After the initial five years of practice, she transitioned to full-time emergency veterinary care for the following two years where she built skills in critical care, surgery and ICU medicine.

Dr. Mathews met her husband in Virginia where they married and had two children. After eight years in Virginia, the decision was made to move to Ohio where her husband’s family resides. For two years Dr. Mathews worked at practices in Troy and the surrounding towns doing relief work. She has also regularly worked for MEDVET specialty center as an emergency doctor since her arrival in Troy.

After ten years of working in numerous veterinary hospitals and emergency care, she has acquired a broad set of skills in veterinary medicine, and she is excited to share them at Green Valley Veterinary Care.

Her favorite way to spend spare time is with her family. She also enjoys bike riding, camping, knitting, and crocheting.

Elizabeth Bair

Veterinary Assistant

Elizabeth is originally from Eaton, OH. She moved to Troy in 2014 to be closer to her family. Elizabeth’s love for animals started at a young age. She grew up on a dairy farm where she helped her Grandmother treat and care for all of their animals. She was a 10-year member of her local 4-h club, and she was also a member of her school’s FFA Chapter, where she obtained her State and American FFA degrees. After graduating, Elizabeth decided to branch into this field because of the love and compassion for animals her grandmother grew in her at a young age.
