  • Allergies – Be aware that some patients have worse allergies in the fall then the spring or summer. Ragweed sagebrush, Russian thistle (tumbleweeds), plantain, cocklebur and lamb’s-quarters are all associated with fall time allergies. Allergies present as skin problems in our patients.   • Fleas and ticks – This is not a spring and summer problem. Ticks can be more prominent in the fall as the leaves come off the trees and deer are feeding to get ready for winter. We have effective and safe medications to keep your pets pest free.
  • Food – Halloween and Thanksgiving are full of treat for humans. But chocolate can make pets very ill and thanksgiving food is too rich for our fur family. Be aware of fall food influx of goodies.
  • Antifreeze – Antifreeze is deadly. As we winterize our cars, boats, and yard equipment be aware of where antifreeze is at all times. Pets will drink it as it tastes sweet. If does not take a lot of ingestion for deadly consequences.
